To make this board, we took a slab of rather ordinary white oak and sliced it into strips and rotated them 90 degrees to reveal the medullary rays (the pale diagonal stripes that cut across the grain) in the wood that can look like defects but are critical to the life of the trees as they help move sap through the tree. The brass handles on this board sit low and out of the way to make room for whatever you want to serve on this one. Finished with a food safe oil finish.
