This bookshelf is made of old growth Douglas Fir reclaimed from a dirty shelving unit likely built in the early 60's in a basement. It shows off the covers of the books to make it easier for kids (or adults) to find the book they want and pull it out through the elastic cord on the front that holds them in place. Finished with brass screws and 2 screw holes placed 16" apart to allow it to be easily mounted into studs on a wall.
